Designed specifically for a Lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, the Nissan LEAF is a medium-size hatchback that comfortably seats five adults and has a range of 160 kilometres (US LA4 cycle) on one full charge to satisfy real-world consumer requirements.

The Nissan Leaf is a compact five-door hatchback electric car manufactured by Nissan and introduced in Japan and the US in December 2010.[1][2] The Leaf is the first mass-produced electric car for sale from a major manufacturer.[3] According to the manufacturer, the Leaf’s all-electric range is 100 miles (160 km) in city driving, but the United States Environmental Protection Agency determined the official range to be 73 miles (117 km), with an energy consumption of 34 kWh per 100 miles (765 kJ/km) and rated the Leaf’s combined fuel economy at 99 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent.
