Oh Mon Dieu! French Firm Releases Obama Car Stickers
Looks like the French, or at least the French website “Cartistick” that sells these decals, have their favorites as nothing says “I luv your president” more than slapping an extra-large Obama sticker on the side of your car. Too much? Probably. Would we do it? Nope. But if anything else, we don’t remember the French (or any other foreign nation for that matter) making any good-nature Georgey Bush Jr. decals when he was elected president, so we gather that’s positive in a twisted sort of way…
2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in Military Camouflaged
The facelifted 2009 Porsche 911 has been around in Europe like what - a few months now? Well that was more than enough time for the owner of this Dutch-license plated 997 Carrera 4S to get so bored of the coupe’s color that he decided to take drastic measures. And while most people would simply go for a different finish, maybe even a matte color, this fella went for a full military camouflage look. We would like to believe that he chose to wrap the 997 in tape (a process known as “foiling”) instead of the classic paint job method…

First Exhibits go on Display in the New Porsche Museum
As the construction of Porsche’s new museum in Stuttgart, Germany comes to an end with only minor work left to be done, the company decided to install the first twelve exhibition vehicles. Porsche said that the relocation of all 80 exhibits that have been safe-kept in an off-premises warehouse in Zwingenberg am Neckar will have been completed by the end of this week. The first exhibits that go on display in the Porsche museum today include, among others, a 356 Cabriolet, an original ‘11′ model and the first prototype of the 924.

Matte Black Audi R8 Spotted in Germany
Some cars look totally awesome in a flat black finish and the Audi R8 is without any doubt one of them. Shot somewhere in the city of Dusseldorf, Germany by a member of the Dutch site Autojunk, this R8 stands out of the crowd like a (matte) fly in a glass of milk.
Wild West Hummer H3 - All In The Name of Art
No, people haven’t lost their mind with the widespread economic turmoil -well, not yet at least- as this Hummer H3 that’s fitted with a set of wooden wagon wheels is actually a piece of art created by Matthew Harrison and it’s on show at the fifth Zoo Art Fair (17-20 October) in central London. Harrison said that he combined the Hummer’s off-road credentials with ‘Wild West’ wooden wheels to create ‘a sculpture that is a mixture of art, engineering and motoring’. Well, in our opinion he should have added a few horses to complete the theme but then again, we’re more humorists than artists.
BMW X6: May the ‘Schwarz’ be With You
Who would have imagined that the BMW X6 crossover-coupe-hatchback mismatch would look so good in a pure evil matte-black paint finish. Personally, we’d have maintained the silver color alloy wheels but other than that, this BMW X6 that looks like it was spotted in a parking lot somewhere in Austria -judging by the license plates that is- gets our full approval. Hit the jump for more pictures.
2009 Geneva Motor Show’s Emotional Poster
A woman dressed in red forming the shape of a heart with her hands is the central theme of the 2009 Geneva Motorshow’s official poster that will be used for communication purposes to promote the next edition of the Swiss auto salon. According to the organizers, the color red expresses passion in the world of automobiles while the heart represents the attraction visitors feel for the show. If by any rare chance you’re not satisfied with our description and you don’t have anything else to do with your time (come on, you must have something), hit the jump to read the official statement from the creators of this poster, the Polyconsult agency from Bern. PETA to Chrysler: Ease Rules on Leather Shoes…
People are losing their jobs, homes and savings; the world economy is going berserk; Chrysler has been sold and bought by the newspapers more times than we can count and what do those busy folks at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) do? They send a letter to Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli informing him that the automaker should ease footwear rules at its factories after a recent memo was posted at the Los Angeles parts depot reminding workers to wear appropriate shoes for safety reasons.
