Currently - IMO - the best value for a starter ROCK crawler would be an Axial Scorpion RTC. Google it. 3) Nice clip. Do these rigs have selectable axles? meaning, can the operator turn the axle on and off? Seemed like some would only drive one axle, then would drive two. Why are only the front tires spinning? thanks. 3a) Yes - what you are referring to is something called a “DIG”. It created a pivot point for the truck - if it needs to turn on a sharp radius - And has a Motor-On-Axle setup - meaning.. one motor mounted to each axle. By controlling the power to the individual they can create a spot for the truck to “dig” with. 4) What type of batteries do you guys run 4a) -Most of us Run LIPO batteries. 1000-2000mAH 2s & 3s depending on the rig. 5) I notice lots of you guys are running HPI rock grabbers. In this tour I feature the 2010 Nissan Titan 5.6SE 4X2 pick-up in Galaxy Black with a Charcoal cloth interior. In the mid 2000’s, Nissan had been developing on their main pickup truck at the time, the Frontier. However, in recent years, their full size pickup, the Titan, has become one of Nissan’s best selling pick up trucks. It competes in a catagory of trucks, mainly dominated by GM, Toyota, and Ford. To make sure than the Titan could stay in the competition with the others, Nissan gave it all sorts of goodies and a powerful engine and transmission to match. Under the hood is Nissan’s 5.6L VK56DE V8 that can crank out a solid 317 hp and 385 lb/ ft of torque for those heavy loads. The motor is combined with a 6 speed automatic transmission and is available with permenant 4WD. This SE version is a 4X2, meaning it can be both 2 and 4 wheel drive, for both off road and city driving. The outside is aggressive looking with sharp lines to the front and rear to really set off the styling of the exterior. The front clip is actually in the same specs as the Titan’s SUV cousin, the Armada.
