Caught wearing sky-inspired blue and white camouflage - as opposed to the traditional black and white getup - the i8 prototype looks virtually identical to the Vision EfficientDynamics concept which debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Despite the similarities, the prototype has a repositioned third brake light and a revised rear fascia with an integrated diffuser. While the production model is slated to use a petrol engine, the VED concept featured a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbodiesel engine and two electric motors that produced 262 kW (356 PS / 351 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This enabled the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), and averge 3.76 L/100 km (63 mpg US). More importantly, thanks to plug-in hybrid technology, the Vision EfficientDynamics could travel up to 50 km (31 miles) on electricity alone. The BMW i8 is scheduled to be launched in 2013 and is rumored to cost approximately £150000 (€175285 / 2680).
I got bored with all the “super car crashes”-videos here on YouTube that only contained PICTURES, CRAPPY MUSIC or/and clips of pure racing cars on official racing events. This compilation DOES NOT include pure racing cars on official racing events - only real life FAILures on the STREETS, made by people with more money than driving skills… (Though, even the best car drivers can crash too of course.)
This is my first decent drift practice session with the S13, finally been able do not care about trees, gutters and sirens. It was really cold, about -10 degrees Celsius which made the already slippery surface a bit of a nightmare so not all spins are voluntary if you know what I mean. I desperately need the max steering angle kit for situations like this one. It’s already on it’s way. Location : Dancu Tool : Nissan 200sx (180sx in japan 240sx in the states) S13 chasis with a stock SR20DET Red Top engine with only minor performance upgrades (intake/exhaust/FMIC) running stock boost of 0.5 bar. Diff is welded and I’m using solid engine and tranny mounts made of Delrin. The rest of the upgrades will go on it shortly as the first event in this years championship is in less than a month. Wish me luck. Musical background provided by one of my favorite DJs. I’d like to thank the hosts for helping me out with a place where I could practice safely./Multe multumiri gazdelor care m-au ajutat cu un loc unde sa pot face practica in liniste si siguranta. Later edit : I’m sorry for the video quality, the upload looked great but it seems to have lost a lot quality-wise because of youtube. I will try uploading a HD version soon. Cheers, Octav
This is a 1969 Morris Mini-Cooper S modified by Downton in Europe. It’s a MK II with sliding windows, external door hinges, and the bigger MK II tail lights. For such a small vehicle, there is loads of room inside the car, as the tranverse mounted twin carbureted 4 cylinder takes up less room because it’s sideways. The designers of the car wanted as much room in a small space as was possible, and they achieved that very well in the Mini-Cooper. This one gets about 35 mpg when you’re light on …
