BMW K2 Travel notes. 2011.
At the end of the winter season it’s pure joy to ride the last ski-run with your ski or drive on snowy ground with your BMW X1. See how ski-professionals combine riding and driving.

Without showing the full monty BMW has just released a very solid preview/teaser video of the fifth generation BMW M5 sedan internally known as the F10M. Previous reports have mentioned an M5 concept debuting at the Shanghai Auto Show next month. Judging by the depth and frequency of these teaser videos Shanghai is very possible, although it could be mixed signals for the BMW 5-Series New Energy Vehicle coming through. If the M5 is a no show in Shanghai, then the Frankfurt motor show in September is a sure bet. Motivating the M5 is same twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 found in the BMW X5 M and X6 M. Power output however is expectedly increased to 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) over the SAV’s 555 PS (547 bhp / 408 kW). Channeling the power down to the wheels is a seven-speed DCT dual clutch transmission featuring three shift programs in addition to a fully automatic mode. According to Evo Magazine, who sampled a test prototype recently, the steering, suspension and drivetrain have three modes: comfort, sport and sport-plus. Furthermore, the MDM (M Driving Mode) raises the threshold of DSC intervention - perfect for those who want more control but still some backup. For those who want full control can switch it off completely giving unadulterated access to a 600 horsepower rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan.
FWT’08 was a great success with 5 stops around the world and the best skiers and snowboarders on earth competing for the World Title. Skiers Elyse Saugstad (USA)and Henrik Windstedt (SWE), Snowboarders Ruth Leisibach (SUI) and Xavier De Le Rue (FRA) were crowned Freeride World Champion at the end of the season, after the Nissan Xtreme in Verbier in March 2008.
Winning run: Candide Thovex (FRA)

Olympic medalist, Julia Mancuso, competed on the Bec des Rosses for the first time ever. With a fastand fluid line, she took third.
The best of the action from Nissan Tram Face 2010! The event was held on Silverado with an innovative format: 2 runs, best counts. Riders put up a truely awesome show with a lot of variety between big moutain lines and freestyle tricks. Check it out!
Henrik showed the most progressive run of the day, throwing a giant backflip off the start straight into a big 360° (full rotation). He skied very fast and smooth all the way to his final air a 45 footer (15 metres), which he landed perfectly. He managed to mix both new school freestyle and big mountain skiing.
