Here is walk around footage I took of the all-new Lexus CT200h hybrid during the kick off party at the Skylight West in New York, NY. “The Darker Side of Green” is the latest ad campaign for the all-new Lexus CT200h hybrid. The CT which debuted in Geneva a few months ago makes its North American debut in New York City. Guests of “The Darker Side of Green” kick off party got an up close, sneak preview of the new CT200h prior to the press days of the 2010 New York Auto Show. The event also featured an engaging debate between eco-friendly journalist Amanda Little and anti-eco Phelim McAleer. Comedienne Sarah Silverman moderated the debate and added some comical sense into the very pertinent environmental matter. Some of the celebrities that came to the event included but not limited to Tyson Beckford, Kevin Bacon, wife Kyra Sedgewick and rapper hall-of-famer Rev. Run of Run DMC just to name a few!!! Five Stars Adult occupant The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings showed good protection of the knees and femurs of driver and passenger. BMW showed that a similar level of protection would be provided for occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different seating positions. In the side barrier test, the car provided adequate protection for the chest and good protection for other body areas. In the more severe side pole test, dummy readings of rib compression indicated weak protection for the chest area. The front seats and head restraints provided marginal protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. Child occupant Based on dummy readings in the frontal and side impacts, the 1 Series scored maximum points for protection of the 3 year infant. Forward movement of that dummy in the frontal impact was not excessive and, in the side impact, both dummies were properly contained within the shells of their restraints, minimising the likelihood of dangerous head contacts. A switch is available as an option which allows the passenger airbag to be disabled, allowing a rearward facing restraint to be used in that seating position. Information provided to the driver about the status of the airbag does not meet Euro NCAP’s requirements. On the first video showing the mini bike side car overview, I mentioned the ability to remove the side car with ease. In this video I remove the side car so I can get it out of the basement and outside to get ready for the warm weather. This was the first time It was removed and took a little time but still under 5 minutes. The next video will be the test ride and based on response the last video will be the side car build and detail. Again comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Build a Mini Bike side car with common home tools and material from the local hardware store. This side car is attached to the common Doodle Bug but will work as made with any Mini bike with small modification. I will include the tools needed and material overview in the video. Not a great amount of detail, will make a more detailed video if there is any interest. (my first try at You Tube posting)
