On Sunday 16 August 2009 Brooklands historic race track, was the venue for a new slot car world record. An army of volunteers constructed a 2.75 mile race track around the original Brooklands race circuit using 20000 pieces of scalextric track. The world record was achieved by two slot cars completing the course in 2 hours.
