Nissan GT-R 2010 Transmission Problems

@ 1:10seconds into the video watch the tach and accel pedal gauges and notice that when I hit the throttle 100%, the car hesitates for 2-3 seconds. If you watch the tach for almost three seconds it sits at 1000rpm and actually goes backwards on the 2nd second. In the car it feels like a dead pedal. You learn to drive the car’s pedal is an on-off switch because it won’t go. and yes I sound like a mad man because I’m so frustrated with the transmission in what is otherwise an impressive vehicle. I currently have 2200 miles on my car. I’ve had a transmission failure at 400 miles and since then multiple transmission issues. 1) The clutch slipped on take off leaving work on a turn in a slippery area and the car shut down and told me to pull over. I was told verbally that they did see an ‘irregularity’ by one of the service techs but it was not documented on the the service ticket. 2) The car will not accelerate after coming to a complete stop or after slowing down and then reaccelerating. This has caused numerous close calls, one where a bus had to almost come to a complete stop on a highway to avoid hitting me. 3) The transmission has got stuck in first gear on two occasions with two different drivers. I was driving down US19 at 20 mpg runing 5-6k RPM and it would not switch into second with all switches in normal and transmission in Automatic. I’ve had it in for service 5 times for this issue and two times it’s been towed in. I believe the total time in the shop has been ~18

Autos:Dodge Intrepid Chrysler 300M Unsafe Steering Problems Failure Defects

Chrysler has clearly known about defective and ‘dangerous’ Steering design in Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Intrepid, 300M, LHS, New Yorker, Concorde and Eagle Vision vehicles since 1993. Daimler Chrysler knows the entire ‘design’ is defective and will do everything in its power to avoid responsibility.

Chrysler has been under investigation by the NHTSA for more than 55,000 warranty claims for Steering problems with Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concord, 300M, LHS and Eagle Vision vehicles and 1,450 reports of steering control problems. Some including complete loss of steering control with 1993-1996 models, reported as of 1999 alone. These statistics do not include 1997 and second generation models (1998-2004) and does not include LH vehicles that may have been brought in for warranty service, where a Chrysler dealer claimed to be ‘unable to duplicate’ a steering related problem. Furthermore, this report also does not include consumers who may have experienced failures under 36,000 miles past the 3 year factory warranty period, (3 years/36,000 miles whichever comes first). We believe that Chrysler has actively concealed the defect from consumers while deliberately misleading the NHTSA about the defect resulting in the NHTSA closing this defect investigation. Chrysler has had nea rly 10 years to properly address and correct these common problems while Chrysler’s patch attempts or attempts to put a ‘band-aid’ over this defective steering design have failed. The fact is that premature steering rack and pinion failures continue even with newer Intrepids, 300Ms, LHS’ and Concordes (2000-2004). Over the years Chrysler has even issued internal Technical Service Bulletins to dealers that ‘quietly’ and ‘delicately’ address certain common Steering related problems. January 1, 1997 Chrysler implemented a running change improving the durability and heat tolerance of its inner tie rod bushings in attempt to deal with common steering problems. October 6, 2000 Chrysler also implemented a running change of the inner tie rod connecting bolts with a stronger bolt design, allowing for higher torque specifications in another attempt to deal with common steering problems. We feel that this is not nearly enough for what experts call a ‘negligently designed and dangerous ly defective steering system’. We believe this design puts dan gerously high load forces on inner tie rod ends and connecting bolts when steering is turned and that the design of the steering system is not fully compatible with the front suspension system thereby causing or contributing to cause sudden, premature and unnecessary failure of its various assemblies and components. What we suspect tends to happen is that the connecting bolts tend to take the brunt of these forces and either shear off or the threads strip. As Chrysler attempted to put a ‘bandaid’ over this problem by increasing the strength of the connecting bolts and increased the bolt torque specifications, we suspect that with the increased bolt strength, and connecting strength, the forces then tends to be transferred to the rack and pinion assembly itself, which often prematurely wears out as a result of this design.

This is probably why the standard throughout the industry has been an end take off Rack and Pinion steering system. Chrysler did not to follow an industry standard which is far safer and much more reliable. Chrysler has a history of not following safer industry standards as it has done in the past with unsafe Gen3 Seatbelts, unsafe liftgate latches and lack of brake shift interlock on some vehicles. The location of the steering assembly, located in a high temperature area behind the engine, right above the transmission or ‘transaxle’ could also contribute to or accelerate these failures. The fact that in another bandaid attempt Chrysler revised the Inner Tie Rod Bushings to be more durable and heat tolerant could suggest this. It is alleged in a lawsuit where a mother and her child suffered brain damage due to the steering failure with an Intrepid, that Chrysler rejected a safer, more compatible end take off design proposed by TRW because an Audi had a center take off design and Chrysler wanted an alleged European feel for their LH Platform. However, Audi’s had a more compatible suspension design, different steering positioning and geometry where they were not prone to premature and/or sudden failures as LH vehicles. The founder of this website, including many others have had accidents, some serious and could have been killed due to steering related problems. There have even been serious injuries and possible deaths while Chrysler continues to choose profits over putting lives at risk. Chrysler’s view seems to be a cost-benefit ratio where it is cheaper to let these circumstances happen where a few people could become hurt or killed and Chrysler doesn’t have to pay to redesign and replace all the defective parts. Many consumers have been left to pay an average of $1200 for replacement when beyond warranty. We believe many consumers have been lied to by Chrysler and its dealers through claiming not to have any prior knowledge of this defect and denying responsibility, thereby forcing consumers to live wit h the dangerous condition, sell the vehicle at a loss or incur the expensive of repairing the defects, especially when under warranty to reduce warranty costs and prevent defect liability. We believe Chrysler has pressured dealers to reduce warranty costs, even for common problems and defects where dealership technicians were reluctant to diagnose steering related problems unless the failure was urgent and obvious at the time to push consumers past Chrysler’s 3 Year/36,000 mile warranty period. In these cases, a dealer would claim it was ‘unable to duplicate’ steering problems that were covered whenever possible. This would seem evident due to some consumer complaints stating dealers claimed they were ‘unable to duplicate’ problems that independent mechanics were able to find and diagnose, such as clunking and wandering. Common symptoms of steering problems with these vehicles are typically loose steering, excessive play in the Steering, vibration, wandering, pulling, steering out o f alignment, difficulty aligning, sudden changes in steering responsiveness, steering wheel doesn’t return smoothly and/or properly after executing a turn, steering easier to turn in one direction, excessive tire wear or tires frequently out of balance, clunks, rattle over bumps, rubbing noises or binding. We have had reports of Steering problems developing in nearly brand new vehicles. The average report of Steering failure with these vehicles seems to be about 20,000-70,000 miles.

Chrysler 300M Unsafe Steering Problems Failure Defects

Chrysler has easily well&wshyp;known around defective and ‘dangerous’ Steering design in Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Intrepid, 300M, LHS, New Yorker, Concorde and Eagle Vision vehicles from the time of 1993. Daimler Chrysler knows the overall ‘design’ is defective and will be able to do all of it in its electricity to forestall responsibility.

Chrysler has carried on below research by the NHTSA for other as opposed to 55,000 warranty argues for Steering inquiries investing in Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concord, 300M, LHS and Eagle Vision vehicles and 1,450 alleges of steering control problems. Some in conjunction with broad reduction of steering control in on 1993-1996 models, reported as of 1999 alone. These statistics do not record 1997 and moment creation tendencies (1998-2004) and performs not add LH vehicles who may undergo carried on brought in for warranty service, at which a Chrysler dealer declared to be ‘unable to duplicate’ a steering linked problem. Furthermore, the current poll furthermore performs not list purchasers who may experience felt failures beneath 36,000 miles beyond the 3 year factory warranty period, (3 years/36,000 miles whichever comes first). We concur such a Chrysler has actively concealed the defect according to people additonally deliberately misleading the NHTSA almost the defect resulting in the NHTSA final the defect investigation. Chrysler has had nea rly 10 decades to right address and affirmatory such routine hassles additonally Chrysler’s patch attempts or attempts to put a ‘band-aid’ throughout currently defective steering design undergo failed. The occurence is overly premature steering rack and pinion failures remain a great deal amid newer Intrepids, 300Ms, LHS’ and Concordes (2000-2004). Over the ages Chrysler has much given internal Technical Service Bulletins to dealers overly ‘quietly’ and ‘delicately’ address absolute typical Steering linked problems. January 1, 1997 Chrysler designed a running tweak improving the durability and heat tolerance of its inner tie rod bushings in head out to situation amidst prevalent steering problems. October 6, 2000 Chrysler moreover planned a running adjustment of the inner tie rod connecting bolts providing a stouter bolt design, permitting for even greater torque specifications in an extra work to transaction amid standard steering problems. We feel which the present is not close to sufficient for how pros use a ‘negligently produced and risky ly defective steering system’. We be sure the current design records dan gerously great mountain forces on inner tie rod ends and connecting bolts when steering is turned and such a the design of the steering method is not completely compatible among the front suspension approach thereby rendering or contributing to hint at sudden, premature and unnecessary failure of its multiple assemblies and components. What we suspect has a proclivity to come about is so the connecting bolts are apt to take the brunt of these kinds of forces and either shear off or the threads strip. As Chrysler attempted to put a ‘bandaid’ for the duration of this moment challenges by on the rise the strength of the connecting bolts and increased the bolt torque specifications, we suspect the in on the increased bolt strength, and connecting strength, the forces subsequently is likely to be transferred to the rack and pinion group itself, that often prematurely wears out as a result of their design.

This is more than likely why the normal all over the economic has continued an end take off Rack and Pinion steering system. Chrysler did not to emulate an sector prevalent that is far safer and still a greater amount of reliable. Chrysler has a history of not coming up safer sector criteria as it has executed in the previous provided chancy Gen3 Seatbelts, risky liftgate latches and lack of brake shift interlock on one or two vehicles. The location of the steering assembly, located in a elevated temperature district behind the engine, proper above the transmission or ‘transaxle’ am able to moreover contribute to or accelerate such failures. The thing overly in an additional bandaid run Chrysler adjusted the Inner Tie Rod Bushings to be additional long term and heat tolerant am able to imply this. It is argued in a lawsuit at which a dad and her child suffered brain damage due to the steering failure in an Intrepid, overly Chrysler rejected a safer, a large amount of compatible end take off design proposed by TRW while an Audi had a core take off design and Chrysler wanted an argued European feel for this LH Platform. However, Audi’s had a larger amount of compatible suspension design, many steering positioning and geometry at which properties got not prone to premature and/or sudden failures as LH vehicles. The founder of currently website, plus multiple others undergo had accidents, a small amount of grim and ought to own kept on killed due to steering tied problems. There suffer a good deal kept on grim injuries and impending deaths additonally Chrysler carries on to pick proceeds for the duration of putting property at risk. Chrysler’s view appears to be a cost-benefit ratio at which it is more low&wshyp;cost to let these kinds of state of affairs come about at which a few buyers may become diminish or killed and Chrysler does not hold to pay to redesign and replace all the defective parts. Many customers experience kept on left to pay an typical of $1200 for replacement when past warranty. We bet a large amount of shoppers undergo continued lied to by Chrysler and its dealers within saying not to experience any prior knowledge of such defect and denying responsibility, thereby forcing homeowners to reside wit h the uncertain condition, turn over the automobile at a cost or incur the steep of repairing the defects, remarkably when underneath warranty to dwindle warranty rates and inhibit defect liability. We suppose Chrysler has pressured dealers to diminish warranty costs, significantly for prevalent subjects and defects at which dealership technicians got reluctant to diagnose steering linked tribulations unless the failure was urgent and distinguishable at the little bit to impel people out of Chrysler’s 3 Year/36,000 mile warranty period. In such cases, a dealer may regard it was ‘unable to duplicate’ steering subjects this got insured whenever possible. This are able to appear noticeable due to There are those customer objections stating dealers declared properties got ‘unable to duplicate’ headaches so independent mechanics got able to forward and diagnose, the as clunking and wandering. Common symptoms of steering topics through such vehicles are traditionally loose steering, extreme play in the Steering, vibration, wandering, pulling, steering out o f alignment, issue aligning, sudden fluctuations in steering responsiveness, steering wheel does not end up with smoothly and/or ideally subsequent to executing a turn, steering simpler to turn in one direction, exorbitant tire wear or tires repeatedly out of balance, clunks, rattle in bumps, rubbing noises or binding. We hold had suggests of Steering difficulties developing in almost kind new vehicles. The common survey of Steering failure investing in such vehicles looks like it’s to be just about 20,000-70,000 miles.
