9:26 BTG lap in BMW M3 on second day of training on October 25, 2011

Gijs records one of the very first undisguised BMW M5 F10’s at Nürburg, Germany. I already recorded this M5 a month ago, but was in doubt for a long time whether I had to upload it or not. Eventually I’ve decided to upload it, since there aren’t many video’s around from this car yet and it’s a fully undisguised one which is still quite rare! The driver didn’t seem to happy with me filming the car so he deliberately pulled away very slow, so I’m sorry the video lacks a decent sound-scene. The driver showed up pretty shortly after I saw this car, so I had only the opportunity to make a couple of shots, but I hope you like it anyways! Thanks for watching! Last Thursday we spent a few hours up-close-and-personal with BMW’s new 1 Series M Coupe, learning about it’s design and features whilst trying to assess its credibility as BMW’s new ‘entry-level’ M car. You can read the first of our reviews at www.skiddmark.com Suffice to say that we liked it, but in deciding how best to share this experience more widely, I decided to create a video to provide the buyers-eye view as you would find if you were taking a look in a showroom. For the video buffs among you the film was shot using a Canon HV20 and captured in 1920×1080 at 23.976 fps. The image was fed into a Mac G5, transcoded from .m2k to .mov using Cineform NeoScene which was also used to remove pulldown. Then Premiere and AfterEffects CS5 were used to edit and grade before exporting in H.264 format. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. Music is by the awesome Greek duo, StrangeZero from their album ‘Newborn Butterflies’ and the track is called ‘Ikebana’.
