A very early BMC film of the original Mini being built from Start to finish at the Austin Factory, Longbridge - happy times. Sadly, most of the factory has recently been demolished. The Mini production assembly remained virtually unchanged for 40 years.

The forth part of the video footage I took at the IMM Mini 50th anniversary weekend held at Longbridge, near Birmingham on the weekend of the 7th to 11th of August 2009. Over 5000 classic Mini’s in attendance! This segment includes a look at the miriad of Mini traders and then onto the highlights from the Wheeler Dealers segement. Available on DVD thousandways.webs.com Longbridge then Cowley (Oxford) where they made the classic Minis, not an easy car to build. Several folk have commented about re-starting a Mini production line. Please leave comments on that. It could be done but maybe not in the UK?
