Heading into the Top Tens full force here, kicking things off with Kotaro Suzuki. Kotaro was one of the first graduates from the NOAH dojo, training under the watchful eye of some of Puroresu’s best. Upon graduation, Kotaro worked his way up the cards, starting at the bottom, and working up from there. However, often mismatched, Kotaro wouldn’t win a whole lot, but as time went on, even these losses resulted in great matches. In 2003, he entered the Differ Cup, alongside fellow NOAH Jr. Heavyweight KENTA. The two placed third in the tournament, and that would catapult KENTA’s stock through the roof, while Kotaro was still stuck where he was. However, he continued to give his all in the ring, and formed a new tag team alongside Ricky Marvin. The two dazzled crowds, but failed to secure any tag team gold, including a loss to Team Chaos at NOAH’s Tokyo Dome in July. Later that year, Kotaro adopted the Tiger Emperor persona, often pulling double duty on shows. The only big win he would gain under the hood was a Mask vs. Hair Match against occasional partner Ricky Marvin. That summer, he also debuted the Mushiking Terry character, and again, found mild success until 2006, where he would at last win the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title. The reign was short, and he lost to longtime rival Yoshinobu Kanemaru. He and Marvin rebounded when they defeated the Briscoes for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.
