The following is a special feature highlight from Jamie Langton’s new classic car DVD, Mini The Legend. On 4th October 2000, Jamie was one of hundreds of journalists who witnessed one of the UK’s favourite little cars reaching the end of the line, the classic Mini. After 40 years of non stop production, it was time to call it a day for the little car with several ‘last of the line’ Mini Cooper 500s poised to roll out forever on the production line. As the track started to roll out the last cars, 60s pop star Lulu sat behind the wheel of the very last example out to the awaiting press. This marked the official end of one of the worlds longest running production models.
