BMW’s brand new road going superbike, the S1000RR takes on the competition along the Route Napoleon in the South of France. Japan’s greatest, the Yamaha R1, Honda’s CBR1000RR Fireblade, Kawasaki’s ZX-10R and Suzuki’s GSXR1000 go up against Germany’s latest to try and take the 2010 MCN 1000cc Sportsbike Of The Year crown.

This pipe was originally 14″ long, but I cut it down to 7″ to make it a “shorty” style. Onboard footage taken from my GoPro mini video camera. The bike is a stock (std road spec) Suzuki GSXR1000 K7 (2007). The track was quiet cos loads of bikes got binned in the first few sessions! Trackday was with No Limits on 1st Sept 2009 (fast group). My quickest laps were in the 1m 48’s.
Bike is heavy and lacking speed and top end power. But excellent under brakes. Camera is taped on top of right side indicator.
