Review by Australian Magazine - Web Wombat: Hamann, one of Germany’s biggest and best-known luxury/exotic car tuners, has released the ultimate BMW M6, the 204mph BMW M6 ‘Race Edition’. Costing 5400 Australian Dollars (more than twice a showroom BMW M6) and outputting a staggering 373kW of power, this is not the kind of investment a driver would take lightly, even in its standard trim levels comprising of a naturally aspirated 5.0 litre, F1-inspired V10 engine. As well as various engine modifications, the Hamann’s fire-breathing M6 gets a number of aerodynamic and body shell upgrades that give it an even more aggressive stance. Those quad exhaust pipes are not the BMW ‘M’ division items, but new stainless steel exhausts, fabricated by Hamann - each with a diameter of 90mm. This, explains Hamann, results in a tone that gives you goose bumps, and tells you all about the potency of this coupé. The main stand alone upgrade consists of a combination of removing the engine’s Vmax speed limiter and optimising the engine characteristics by reprogramming the standard engine control unit (ECU). The final upgrade is the “HM/M +60″ sport kit which as the name suggests, provides an additional 60bhp and can provide an extra 54Nm of torque, meaning that a notably faster top speed of more than 320km/h can be reached as well as a 0-100km/h around the low 4.0s mark can be envisaged. www.webwombat.com.au

The F1 car weighs at minimum 600kg (with driver) and has about 760hp from a 3 litre v10, while the V8 Supercar weighs at minimum 1355kg (without driver) has about 550-600hp from a 5 litre v8.

Peugeot Sport Total scores a double in the Imola 6 Hours Peugeot Sport Total scored a double in the Imola 6 Hours in the third round of the 2011 Le Mans Series repeating their Spa feat. Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Bourdais in the no.7 Peugeot 908 took the flag in front of Stéphane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny in the no.8 Peugeot 908. Marcel Fässler and Timo Bernhard completed the podium in the no. 1 Audi R18 TDI. In LM P1, the Pescarolo Team and Rebellion Racing, on level pegging, still have everything to fight for in the last two events of the Le Mans Series at Silverstone and Estoril. The other wins went to Greaves Motorsport in LM P2, AF Corse in LM GTE Pro, IMSA Performance Matmut in LME GTE Am and JMB Racing in FLM. In many cases it was a question of forgetting Le Mans at the Autodrome Enzo e Dino Ferrari since the start of practice on Friday. The Sarthe event had been a triumph for some and a race to forget for others so everybody was determined to concentrate on the Imola 6 Hours. Anthony Davidson’s pole in no.7 helped Peugeot to put its Sarthe setback behind it. It was the same thing at BMW Motorsport thanks to Jörg Müller in the no. 55 BMW M3. Mathias Beche (TDS Racing) in LM P2 and Patrick Long (Proton Competition) in LM GTE Am set the quickest times. None of the Le Mans winners set the quickest times in any of the categories!
