The BMW Z4 is a rear-wheel drive sports car by the German car maker BMW. It follows a line of past BMW roadsters such as the BMW Z1, BMW 507, BMW Z8, and the BMW Z3. The Z4 replaces the Z3. First generation production started in 2002 at BMW’s Greer, South Carolina plant, with production of both roadster and coupe forms. When debuted, it won Automobile Magazine “Design of the Year Award”. Starting with the 2009 model year, the second-generation Z4 is built at BMW’s Regensburg, Germany plant as a retractable hardtop roadster. In 2009, the BMW Z4 won the Red Dot Design Award.
Mini Countryman (2010-) Mini CountrymanIn January 2010, Mini unveiled the Countryman (internally, the R60), their first crossover SUV. The Mini Countryman will be sold as a 2011 model-year vehicle, and will have five doors; a longer wheelbase and more interior room than the Clubman; and higher ground clearance. The Countryman will make use of exactly the same engines as the other models, but will offer an optional all-wheel-drive powertrain (dubbed “ALL4″) to allow minimal off-road and rugged terrain use.[35] In June, with preparation for the launch of the Countryman, Mini invited grammy award winner and country/pop singer Michelle Branch and urban pop producer Timbaland to collaborate on a new advertisement effort. Their new song, “Getaway”, focuses on the idea of “urban meets country”, and the music video premiered on June 8, 2010. The Countryman will be built in Austria at Magna Steyr (the former Steyr Puch factory), making it the first of the BMW Minis to be manufactured entirely outside the UK. In November 2010 Euro NCAP granted the Countryman a 5-star crash rating. Mini (styled as MINI) is a British automotive marque specialised in small cars owned by BMW.
