2011 has been an exciting year for the BMW 1 Series with the first deliveries of the hotly-anticipated BMW 1 Series M Coupé taking place and the announcement of the refreshed 1 Series Coupé and Convertible models. What better way to celebrate such milestones than to invite the local press to drive the cars around Broadford race track in Victoria? Also present on the day was a number of special guests including Rye from Tasmania who was the winner of our Facebook “day as a journalist” competition held earlier this year. Rye was invited to showcase his driving skills behind the wheel of the BMW 1 Series M Coupé.

Welcome to the Netherlands, where the houses are all perfect - almost to a Truman Show level of creepiness - and everyone, without exception, drives a Ferrari. Most people seem to own at least two. At least, that’s what the Netherlands looks like when a Ferrari club rents a bunch of vacation bungalows for a group gathering.
Red Bull is once again looking strong as it heads into Formula One’s opening round in Australia. Red Bull ace and last year’s champ Sebastien Vettel took pole position for Sunday’s race by nearly a second in Saturday qualifying. Mark Webber, Vettel’s teammate and Australia’s hometown hero, wound up third behind Lewis Hamilton.
Red Bull claims that neither of its drivers used their KERS (Kinetic Energy Regeneration System) during qualifying, which is usually good for .3 seconds a lap. That means, in theory anyway, Vettel has a potential 1.5 second advantage over the competition when the green flag waves tomorrow.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton is sandwiched between the two Red Bulls in second, while teammate and 2009 champ Jenson Button sits fourth behind Webber. Fernando Alonso is fifth in the first of the Ferraris ahead of Vitaly Petrov for Renault. Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg is seventh, ahead of the second Ferrari of Felipe Massa. Kamui Kobayashi sits ninth for Sauber and Sebastien Buemi rounds out the top 10 for Toro Rosso.
Amazing footage of East Creek near Chalk Drive / Chalk Lane rising and washing away lots of cars during Flash Flood in Toowoomba on Monday 10 January 2011. This is some of the best footage I have seen of the Flood and was taken from the second floor of our office which backs onto Chalk Lane. It shows just how fast the creek turned into a torrent and quickly flooded Chalk Drive and Chalk Lane. I also got some video of where the creek crosses Neil Street and some video of the aftermath and the huge amount of cars damaged and piled on top of one another in the Chalk Drive car park. ***** With the incredible exposure that my video is receiving all over the internet and media worldwide I would like to encourage you to donate to the relief appeals. You can donate to the Queensland Government Appeal at: www.qld.gov.au Or the Churches of Christ Care Queensland Flood Appeal here: care.cofcqld.com.au Please pray for us. There are many people who are suffering through this. *** Okay comments are back up. Thank you for all your expressions of support for us.
