This well-made feature examines 34 racers in 19 marques, treating each car as a separate DVD chapter, and showing each historically significant competitor in new or (mostly) archival footage, with detailed histories of every car. The informative narration was researched by Rally historian Graham Robson, and the narrator is veteran British Rally driver and commentator Ron Mason, whose in-depth experience informs every chapter, along with engaging reminiscence from several of the sport’s most illustrious drivers. (They all cite the Ford Escort Mk I as the best Rally car ever.) Fact pages are given for each featured car, along with data for 27 years of championship racers, and breathtaking on-board footage from some of Rally’s most treacherous courses.
