Dont no what ur problem is but 100 miles per hour is 160 km/h.
A gixxer wont go 160km/h in 1st gear ?
Guess you dont know much about new sportbikes.
Acting like you know something and trying to make a statement but its hilarious.
In 2006 i tested the ZX10R and bike went 164 km/h in fist gear.
In 2008 i tested the (then new) Yamaha R1,went 161 km/h in 1st gear.
Now you saying a 2009 GSX-R trackbike cant get 100m/h in 1st gear…

LOL if you think it’s in KM/H. Do the math, they are going WAY faster than 119mph on that straight. It’s without a doubt MPH.

I Agree those are M.P.H And i had a GSXR 1000 K7 and it could do over 100 in first gear, any 1000 cc machine should be able for it.

Hate to tell you, but you’re wrong. Those are MILES an hour. Most big sportsbikes will go near 100 mph in first with stock gearing and factory redlines. Add a thousand or 1,500 rpm, and a tooth at the contershaft - and there you are.
There is a fine dividing line between courage and craziness, and these guys are so far on the wrong side of it, it’s frightening. This is like the Viking warrier, stuff of legend, tour of Valhalla. There are gods amoung us. You woun’t understand.

I know for a fact these guys do close to and sometimes over 200 MPH as i have witnessed this for myself.
The following article is taking from the BBC’s NW200 website…..
Michael Rutter returned in 2004 and, on lap four of the second Superbike race, he went through the speed trap between Station Corner and the university at 201.1MPH.
Rutters feat was the first time that the 200 MPH mark had been recorded on the official speed trap.

Cantabinexile ~ The Anstey TAS bike is high geared to have a higher top end… at the I.O.M they really struggled to exit Ramsey Hairpin and all the up the mountain section but on the run down and Sulby Straight were hitting well over 200mph+ but he was sooo unlucky not to win this year. I made it the NW200 this for this for my 1st time and def will be back next year… Kasabien an Fire goes really well whilst watching this awesome vid!

watching the TAS bikes they seem really quick up the top end as Anstey was flying past other guys on the long straight, didnt seem to have the acceleration out of the corners though.
These guys must have a hell of lot of trust with each other to be passing each other so close at those speeds.
Bruce also must have been the most unlucky guy at the TT this year, hopefully he will back on the top of the podium in 2010, great rider
