www.gtrusablog.com Nissan Skyline GT-R ATTESA System Transfercase over view of internal workings of the transfer case. This is why you can run a GT-R rear wheel drive on a dyno. With the driveshaft out, or no pressure to the clutch pack, the chain that drives the front wheels does not move . http

  2. I was just wondering if it was possible to modify the AWD system, so that a switch inside the car causes the front shaft to be mechanically separated from transmitting power to the front diff. without having to remove it completely?

  4. wait wait wait…had a airhead moment…sorry. didnt think about the lever for my transfer case…but they do make some of the jeeps now that are all time AWD, but you can put in 4LO…

still gt-r is an amazing car, and the motors are for lack of words “SEX”

  5. Well the GT-R ATTESA system has a clutchpack that is locked up though hydraulic pressure. Its a mechanical device controlled though hydraulic fluid.

The safe way to go is to pull the shaft, then if there is any lockup in the clutch, that doesn’t turn into heat though the stationary front shaft.

  6. aahhhh okok…so in a way somewhat it is kinda of like the AWD/4WD system on a jeep…just be safe and pull the front axle out?

    Comment by s14ka240sx — November 10, 2009 @ 9:06 am

  7. Partially true. You can do it on an R32 like that as it has no back up power to the ATTESA pump. However an R33, and R34 have backup power. If you pull the fuse the center diff locks up about 10%. Enough to hurt it by just pulling the fuse. If I am dynoing, I like to pull the front propshaft, its the safe way.

  19. So do you normally have motorex skylines for sale?

    Comment by nitrousboy0311 — November 10, 2009 @ 9:06 am

  20. Not the Motorex cars. The DOJ is investigating the Kaizo cars that were imported right now. If you check out my blogs, you will find an “Export or Surrender” Letter.
