I cannot believe that they didn’t give the GTR a couple thousand miles of break-in. They are seriously lucky to have not thrown a rod on a factory-fresh car.
Even though the power lap time of the GTR compared to the 911 GT3 RS ( the fastest 911 time) on Top Gear is a whole three seconds faster. What a bogus argument. The GTR is just faster. Thats that. When are you Porsche guys gonna get that your not paying for the car your paying for the brand. That little emblem on the hood is hurting you more than you know.
Don’t forget it was a private car that wasn’t run in properly if the gtr was a press car with a couple of thousand miles on it the guy would have thrashed it and knocked at least another second off.
this is 1 second gap is ridiculous. Look at the lap they did in 911 - a lot of drifting (and drift kills good time). On the GTR instead they don’t show the lap. So it amazing than GTR is can be as fast as 911 turbo for this money, but wait for 911 turbo with PDK. Now there is a technical advantage of gearbox in Nissan.
The fact is which one would most people have? Some Nissan Ricer , or a German Porsche?
Right………..
The obvious choice would be the 911 turbo, and i don’t even care if the GTR is 1 second faster on a track…. It is all about the car, and the 911 Turbo is a classic, while the GTR reminds me of a Ricer rocket.
911 Turbo has been a bench mark for a long time and that isnt going to change. This idiot was driving it so badly that i wanted to fucking kick him in the face. Let the stig from top gear do this and the 911 will beat the gtr. Plus for 480 hp the turbo is astonishing in what it does. U get 550-600 hp cars that care compared to it. The new 911 with 500 hp and much better tech will absoloutley RAPE the gtr.
Not to mention. This is only the 4th of the new generation models they have made, eg R32, R33, R34, R34 etc. Porsche have numerous models before hand and specialise in the field of making quality cars. Give Nissan the time of day remove the family cars from their line up and let them focus on making super cars and im sure they will have a car far superior to that of the R35 (not that it isnt a good car to begin with) but alot more people will realise how good they are.
Porsche definately have great cars but what everyone has to realise is Nissan is a family car company, they have been for a long time and once in a while they creat their “gtr’s”. What people don’t understand is that Nissan has alot less financial input into their cars, theres no point putting countless dollars into their car and competing with supercars cause they will for a long time be known as a plain old Nissan. Give them time and a few more models and lets see where they are.
The 911 Turbo, is better looking car, better built car even if the performance is near equal to the GT-R. The 911 Turbo also have proven reliability. When it comes to real would street driving and every day use. The 911 Turbo is clear choice for performance and style.
idk to tell u the truth i really din’t care about the speed my favorite car in the vid is the black r8 next to the truck but it seem to me like they liked the gtr better maybe cause it’s new
Is not (HOW,WHAT WHERE WHEN)..but the sell and quality and taste proof its sef,…some like to keep in garage and only weekend drive, and they called best than JP…other is a working vehl. daily driven with reliable and quality and in sell recording numbers…Is your Moneys either you smart in saving and quality and reliable or you can throw all your BREAD away…but I can tell you the fact…JP vehl. proved its self time and time gain EURO or USA
why would i go to japan? they import G-TRs to america. ive seen them. and the 911 Turbo is faster. and the 911 GT2 is even faster then that. and porsches aren’t even the fastest… there are many that are better than GT-R and 911
every Automotive industry alway going back to the drawing board…They are both good cars…didn’t win this time than the next 4 or 5 yrs for Porsche….I love them both …If I have the moneys and time to keep in top shape
don’t said that friend???…I’m not an expensive taste but Porsche have its reputation on track too..I also works at Nissan and own first Nissan B-210 since 76 and I still love that car…bottom line is they both good and fast ….1 is reliable and quality …and other is expensive and track reputation History and reliable but not quality… for last 35yrs known about cars…they both are good car…its just the taste of moneys and your ego
nice try???..I didn’t said anything about your comment, but just said you should try to travel to Japan see them in action for your self thats all friend…or buy a video and watch the video for your self…

how about the nurburgring time? and this track time? what else do u want as a proof?
December 5th, 2009 at 10:09 am
The fact that you are using Top Gear “time” as a scientifically measurement of a car’s performance is even more bogus.
