it finally got the lines on the ground like forenza. i was beating the missions without them but some of those licence test are hell. id be stuck on those international ones for days. Grand tursimo not the trendsetter it used to be but still a great game

and gotta say that you drive pretty good here, I didnt catch up with Yamauchi ghost at all, I was like 4 seconds behind :/ Gotta attach my G25 with PS3 and try again.

I think this demo looks pretty good, and IF you drive from a cockpit view, you can hardly focus on surrounding graphics only, you HAVE to focus on track itself, if anyone is thinking I’m wrong about that, and says I should watch trees only when driving…. well what can I say for that, I hate using LOL.

exactly
Comment by abot19 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
@jimmyplane I didn’t say they compressed anything. They just didn’t include much graphically like effects and shaders or lighting. What I’m saying is they did’t put in the full capabilities of the engine.

200 meg is more than enough for 2 nearly identical cars and a boring ass track. Don’t make it seem as if PD compressed, and downgraded things just to fit 200 megs. Minus the AI, and damage, this IS GT5. They can show off Tokyo all they want, but that’s their best looking track out of the lot. That’s why it’s been the only track they have been showing. After Tokyo and London (yes, city tracks always look the best) their other tracks look like this one…garbage.

waaaaaaaaait a sec u does this demo only includes 1 car and 1 track but what are we suppost to do with only 1 car to drive thats ridiclous the game rocks just hope that the next demo (if they made one) has more cool cars and tracks also
Comment by firerider23 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
yea but look at them knobhead they have obivisly been downgraded
Comment by jonnyman76 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
the graphics are insane cant wait till its out
Comment by TheNathanJenkins1 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
the driving physics looks similar to the professional driving on the prologue
i hope that we can still choose between standard and professional driving.
and i would like to see backfire from the exhaust, at least in the race cars
but still, i think its the best racing game ever

But they never said the graphics in the demo were downgraded either. You would think they would release a more promising public statement to address this issue.
Again Im not going to make any conclusions yet. Just dont be so sure about what youre saying because you dont know for sure either.
Comment by asdfxyz1 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
@asdfxyz1 Well, they said that the only purpose of the demo is to showcase the physics engine, and the fact that it is only 200 mb, I think it kinda proves the point.
Comment by Astrapogiannos14 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
@Astrapogiannos14 Yes the Tokyo gameplay looks pretty damn good thats why Im hoping what theyre saying about the GT Academy demo is true.
However, I dont believe Sony or PD actually said specifically that the graphics were downgraded in the GT Academy demo.

Comment by aam44Nose — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
nasty
Comment by zenkakukaro — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
Forgot to mention, the sound is still crap.
engine sounds like it always has in GT.
No backfires from the exhaust on the down shift, no twitching under braking - no attention to detail…
Comment by muiramas — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
If this is representative of nearly 5 years work, then nobody is impressed.
Comment by muiramas — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
also just played the demo and i hope that this arent the final graphics…cause they look bad
Comment by DaColdFlash — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
LMAO LOLOLO UGLIX!
Comment by BertusHH — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
@asdfxyz1 Also, haven’t you seen any real gameplay vids from conventions? It looks way better. You can’t say that these are the actual graphics when the developers themselves said that this time trial is just for the new physics engine. Thus it’s 200mb whereas many demos are about 1gb. Seems to me that you just want to bash the game.
Comment by Astrapogiannos14 — December 17, 2009 @ 8:10 pm
@asdfxyz1 No, they clearly stated that when they announced this time trial.
