Dustin Wimmer’s Factory Suzuki LTR450 ATV Test, Part 2
ATV On Demand recently had the chance to test Dustin Wimmer’s GNC championship winning Factory Suzuki LTR450. First Suzuki gave us a detailed overview of nearly everything that goes into building the machine after which they let us take Dustin’s machine out for a spin after the ATV National at Loretta Lynn’s.

the pro ltr450s do have big bore kits on them they are all have different kits though but like dustin wimmer and doug gust both have the 480 kit and all custom valves and heads all made by yoshimura

the ltr motocross bikes are nasty my friend just became sponsored and let me ride his bike and it was amazing redicoulusly torque and fast and yea most pros get almost everything free

boreing and stroking is illegal in AMA races
Comment by quadrider74 — December 4, 2009 @ 4:26 pm
no they don’t have bore kits in them. they have to stay at the 450 which is like a 432 or something. they just have all the aftermarket things. also if you buy the stuff from the right people and get discounts, you can get it like that for like 13k

No, most run stock bore. Just add high compression pistons, cams, valves… basically MAX them out, But they must stay within “PRODUCTION” limits…or they have to run open class

yeah im sure that this is just shy of teh 450 cc a few years ago when doug gust was really really fast they checked his motor and he was at a 449.98
also i dont think i could go to the same people and get a bike set up like dustins.. for one that thing is new every few raced top to bottom
second thats a load of money spend
and last im sure the dealers do alot of testing with products on the race quads and then release it a year later…

they do everything just like the guy is supercross.
after each moto the motors are gone over and checked for any problems or signs of wear. im sure each motor is rebuilt after ever weekend

Comment by banshe101 — December 4, 2009 @ 4:26 pm

Comment by foxcore074 — December 4, 2009 @ 4:26 pm
idk if 25000 for the exact bike but to have one built wouldnt be close probably you could buy an older ltr a used one with some add ons and go from their and spend last then that
