  10. I own this car - its gas mileage is underestimated. I got 28.2 mpg after 400 miles of mostly city driving (vs 29 mpg for the Civic). It has excellent handling and interior comfort with tall seats and head room. A good car for the money. It has a 100,000 mile warranty. The 2008 model has needed fewer repairs than most other 2008 cars so far, so quality is good. Recommended for drivers seeking good comfort and handling in an inexpensive car.

  11. Also depends the weight of the car. This car weighs 2,700 to probably near 3,000 which is same as others in the class but it is heavy. As we all know most cars get bigger over time. Also gearing plays an effect on mpg.

  12. Yes, Billy bob….Suzuki and performance do go hand in hand….Motorcycles for one, and if you did some research, you’d realize that Suzuki has been racing for many years in international Rallys with the SWIFT, IGNIS, and now the SX4 on the WRC circuit. Suzuki is incredibly popular in every other part of the world other than the U.S.

  13. Bought an 08 SX4 AWD in March, and it’s been a great car…Incredibly reliable, handles great, and mileage is getting better and better. Commuting, getting 33-34mpg on the highway.

    Great car, great price.

  14. Sorry I’ve driven both, and the SX4 sport is a lot more polished, a lot better driving car.
It should be given how much newer of a design it is.

  20. They are selling an wheel drive version of this car that I saw on TV. comes loaded for about 15 grand. Thats a nice alternative to an SUV or small truck.

  21. Consumers get confused with a brand that’s 110% sporty excitement with it’s bikes, and extreme conservatism with it’s cars. Suzuki should at LEAST be where Pontiac is in terms of Sporty cars. So much money goes into the bike division but the cars get neglected :( Just my 2 cents. thanks

  24. The Suzuki Swift & SX4 were both designed by Suzuki, and are both being built by Suzuki.

  25. the car gets less mpg than the others because it has a bigger more-powerful base engine… 2.0 ltrs… which is more powerful and performs better than, lets say, the 1.8 in a Corolla
