I can confirm that. I’m 6′3, 240. My busa fits me perfectly. The B-king ERGONOMICALLY is a tad smaller.

Oh, by the way, the bike’s top speed is reached in FOURTH gear. Because of the electronic governor that works off the tach, it will reach the highest RPM in 4th. Fifth gear is about 2 MPH slower, and the same for 6th. 158 MPH in 4th.

Yay! I finally purchased my NEW B-King tonight. Rode it for the first time. What a sweet ride. My son just came home from Ft. Jackson at the same time, so I let him take it for a short ride. He owns a ‘05 Bandit. Tomorrow we plan to take 3 bikes out, the B-King, The Bandit, and my 99 Honda 800 VFR. These, all three, are sweet rides. We will rotate, take turns, and ultimately decide what we like best. Date is31 July ‘09.

My dad told me a story about this road. It used to be his favourite road to drive down in his truck when he was driving from London to Manchester Via Leeds

Reviews I have read say that SMALLER guys will fit the B-King better. Because of those shoulders sticking out on the side of the tank, your legs need to fold and squeeze under them. They also provide extra wind protection. Consumer news says this works well for a rider no more than about 5′8″. But a short guy can hardly put his feet on the ground. So you win some, lose some. The bike I am trying to buy has been lowered 2″ and now feels perfect.

I just now, July 12, added the stats for the B king higher up on this page so people will find it. It is about the 12th entry down. In the B mode, it allows you to use “Normal’ throttle inputs because the power has been cut, so you don;t have to make a CONSIOUS effort to keep from twisting your wrist in the rain.
Oh? Stopping distance 60-0 119.62 feet.

B-King Statistics…(finally). Several people here asking about the King, so here are the stats.
163.9 HP @t 9500 RPM at rear wheel. Torque 97.20 lb/ft. at 7250 RPM. 0-60 mph 2.86, 0-100 mph 5.51 seconds. 1/4 Mile 9.99 seconds @138.42 MPH. Put the button in B mode and it drops 43.53 from the horsepower and 30.44 ft. pounds from the torque. Top speed (governed) 158 MPH. Weight wet 578 lbs. All these figures from Motorcycle Consumer News, March 2008.

July 4 weekend I and one of my sons was on ‘Deals Gap’ which actually should be called US 129 or The Dragon because the Gap is only at one end. Didn’t see any cops to speak of. Rode both ways twice, not a cop in sight. Actually though, It is nice to know that they are around when needed. What we did see though was TONS OF TRAFFIC, not on the Dragon but in Gatlinburg and the worst place in the world, Pigeon Forge. DO NOT GO NEAR PIGEON FORGE people.

Yes, the B mode supposedly is for riding in the rain, etc. They say it makes the bike easier to manage.

I WANT THIS BIKE!!!!!!
Comment by impostor1981 — August 20, 2009 @ 8:31 pm
Thanks a million OldWriter, I was always told it’s not how powerful the bike is, it’s how you respect the power and ride. I have a wife and 3 son’s to live for, so I am too old to get caught up into taking some youngster from light to light. I guess the good thing about the B-King is it has an A and B mode. I was told in “B” mode it cuts the power around 30% which would put it at a 900 or 1000cc output. That is still fast but manageable. Thanks for the Wisdom, I always respect my elders.

As far as the B-King being overpowered. It is all in the wrist. You twist the throttle, or you don’t. I am 71 years old and riding a VFR 800 and a Suzuki 1200 Bandit. Both very powerful fast bikes. I just sold a Valkryie, and that baby had 6 big ones. Both of my sons learned to ride on the Valkryie. Yes, that’s right, learned to ride on a ‘heavy’ Valkrie. Handled real nice because the motor is horizontally opposed so the weight is down low. Don’t be afraid to buy the King, I plan to.

You are right about not being able to judge by seeing a video. I had seen a clip of a guy making the entire 11 mile ride on the road called the DRAGON, US 129 in North Carolina, Tennesse. It has 318 curves in 11 miles. In the video, the road looks almost level. For real, I have been there, it is all up and down as well as curves.

The reviews I have read say the B-King is governed to 158 MPH because it is not covered by a racing fairing like the Hayabusa. But how often would you get to exceed 158 MPH in any case?

I have a 1200cc ‘05 Suzuki Bandit and a 94 Honda Magna 750cc V4 for sale on Birmingham, Alabama Craigslist right now 9 July ‘09 so that I can buy a new B-King that is being held for me. Either bike sells, I get it. B-King has been lowered about 2 inches for my 29 inseam and looks much better. He even took a round bit about the size of a half dollar and drilled into the pipes. Now it sounds really great, looks stock. Re-mapped the ECU of course. Anyone need some very clean and fast used bikes?

I agree, the way the B-King looks is what makes it awesomely different from anything on the road. I am so in love with the stock exhaust. I would not change anything on the B-King. I just wished they made it in a 1000cc motor version. I am a new rider and the only thing that has kept me from buying the B-King is it is way to overpowered for everyday riding. It has track bike power with a Queen B’s face. I just love it!
Comment by NtheNow — August 20, 2009 @ 8:32 pm
Yeah, some turkey writer in one of the bike books said if he had a King he would have to hide it in the garage because of the pipes. What is with these people? Like Harley riders, they all must be the same. Afraid to be different. Go figure.
Comment by OldWriter205 — August 20, 2009 @ 8:32 pm
Well, Suzuki designed them and placed them on the bike, and I am going with Suzuki. Drill them out inside…(heard a set) and they sound good. Leave the looks. Have you seen the new Transformers movie? B-Kings in it, with those pipes.
